Abstract
Rhinoliths are called as nasal concretions or nasal calculi.
They usually have a foreign body nucleus of bacteria, blood, pus cells, mucus,
crusts or some foreign materials from outside of body.
Recently we experienced a case of rhinolith in right nasal cavity.
A 65-year-old female was first seen on February 18th., 1986, suffering from nasal obstruction, malodorous mucopurulent discharge, frequent nasal bleeding, tearing and exophthalmos on the right side since about 5 years ago.
Anterior rhinoscopy of nose revealed a white gray irregular shaped hard mass occupying right nasal cavity.
Under the general anesthesia, the mass was removed with lateral rhinotomy and partial removal of pyrif orm aperture, and the measured by 3.0 cm by 2.6 cm by 1.8 cm and weighted 7.9 gm approximately.
